Garage floor tiles
vs. epoxy coating.
Epoxy garage floor coatings look great for the first six months. Then the hot-tyre pickup, peeling, yellowing, and cracking start. GRIDLINE interlocking garage tiles were engineered to make epoxy coatings obsolete — here's how the two flooring systems compare side by side.
Epoxy
/ THE COATING
Yellows under UV exposure within 12 months
Peels from hot tyre pick-up in summer
Cracks with concrete expansion
3–5 day installation with chemical fumes
Difficult repair, full re-coat often required
1–3 year typical lifespan
vs
Swisstrax
/ THE SYSTEM
UV-stable polymer — never yellows, ever
Heat-resistant to 93°C surface temp
Floats over cracks, expansion-tolerant
3-hour install, zero chemicals, zero downtime
Swap single tiles in minutes if damaged
Lifetime warranty, generational performance

Why our garage
flooring lasts.
Every GRIDLINE garage floor tile is injection-molded from high-impact polypropylene polymer, then load-tested past the breaking point of epoxy, vinyl, and rubber mats. The result: a garage flooring system that outperforms in every dimension that matters — load, temperature, chemical resistance, and lifespan.

Load Capacity
Park a fully-loaded lorry on a single tile. Engineered for industrial weight without deflection.
-40°C
Cold Tolerance
From Arctic garages to desert workshops — the polymer never cracks, warps, or yellows under thermal stress.
100%
Chemical Proof
Oil, brake fluid, petrol, battery acid. Wipe and walk away. Zero staining, zero degradation.

Lifetime Warranty
If a tile ever fails under normal use, we replace it. Forever. No questions. No fine print.
Installed 130 square metres over a weekend. Two years later it looks identical to day one. Best money I've ever spent on the workshop.

FAQs.
Everything you need to know about installing interlocking polymer tiles in your garage, basement, or workshop. Still have questions? Talk to a flooring specialist.
/
How much do interlocking garage floor tiles cost?
GRIDLINE garage floor tiles start at £42.95 per square metre. A typical double garage of about 37 m² costs between £1,600 and £2,400 depending on the tile style and colour you choose. Bulk and contractor pricing is available for orders over 93 m².
/
How long does it take to install garage floor tiles?
Most double garages can be tiled in about 3 hours by a single person. Tiles snap together by hand using a patented connector system — no adhesives, no chemicals, no special tools required. You can drive on the floor immediately after installation.
/
Are garage floor tiles better than epoxy coatings?
Interlocking polymer garage tiles outperform epoxy in nearly every dimension. They don't yellow under UV, don't peel from hot-tyre pickup, don't crack with concrete movement, and don't require chemical-fume installation. If a tile is ever damaged, you swap it individually instead of re-coating the entire floor.
/
What weight can polymer garage tiles support?
GRIDLINE garage flooring tiles are rated to over 27,000 kg of compressive load. That's more than enough for fully-loaded pickup trucks, hydraulic lifts, motorbike stands, and most industrial workshop equipment.
/
Can I install garage tiles on cracked or uneven concrete?
Yes. Because our modular tile system floats over the substrate rather than bonding to it, minor cracks, expansion joints, and small surface imperfections are no problem. The flexible polymer simply spans them — no crack-filling or concrete grinding required.
/
Do garage floor tiles work outdoors and in cold climates?
Absolutely. GRIDLINE tiles are UV-stable, freeze-resistant down to -40°C, and rated for outdoor use including patios, decks, and event flooring. The polymer blend handles full sun, snow, road salt, and thermal cycling without cracking, warping, or fading.
